Jio phone : An end to feature phone competition.
Reliance Jio today announced the launch of its much rumoured 4G feature phone, which is named as JioPhone. The JioPhone will be available for free but buyers will have to deposit a fee of Rs 1500 which will be refundable after three years on returning the phone. This means the phone will be available at an effective price of zero.
Now coming to the specification part, it features a 2.4 inches QVGA 480 x 854 pixels display and a 512MB RAM processor paired with and 4GB native storage capacity.The LYF Jio 4G Feature Phone boasts of a 2MP main snapper at its rear . There is a Li-ion 2000 mAh battery powering the phone with support for USB .
It will come with a digital voice assistant, support for 22 Indian languages, and a panic button. The phone is expected to come with dual SIM functionality, VGA front camera, FM radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. The JioPhone has been tipped to come with a 4GB of internal storage, and 512MB of RAM.
The mobile will have the ability to install and run apps, including Jio’s own apps like JioTV, JioCinema, and others. The JioPhone will be able to connect to any TV using a cable developed by the company to show content from JioTV and JioCinema apps to watch the content on the big screen.
